1994-2023
Walla Walla University (WWU) utilized the tools in the tool library for service days, an annual event held for the last 29 years and counting to help the surrounding communities. However, many of the tools went unused
for the majority of the year.
Our History
February, 2023
Patty Marsh, Upper Columbia Conference Adventist Community Services director, mentioned that the ACS disaster response trailer had not been used for several years. A new purpose was born. The tool library, in partnership with ACS, is a trailer with hundreds of tools.
Now, 2024
The tool trailer continues to serve the community as the tool collection is expanding. If you are interested in learning more, email us at heynn@wallawalla.edu or call (509)… We hope you join us in strengthening our community.
“The tool library gives people the tools they need to succeed. Many individuals have the skill to do home repairs or community projects but might not have the resources or funds to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive tools.”
Check out what Ben has been up to!
“Ben’s story can go here, along with pictures of the project…”
*All tools have first priority to be used in disaster response coordinated with Adventist Community Service (ACS). Thank you for your flexibility as we strive to help the community around us.

The standard loan period is one week. If an item is needed for longer than one week, the member will need to renew the loan.
If an item is returned late, the member will be responsible for late fees. This late fee will be $5 per day for every day the Tool Library is open until the tool is returned. We are so grateful for items that can help further our mission to build a stronger neighborhood and community. Whether you are spring cleaning, moving, or looking to give back to the community, we love to reclaim and reuse items. We hope that items can be given a second life and not only fix up homes but serve others in big and small ways.
Our basic acceptance criteria are:
Items are in working order and include all necessary parts/accessories.
Power tools are a modern vintage (for safety and maintenance reasons).
Items are (reasonably) clean and free of excessive rust.
Naturally, there are some exceptions to the list above. High-quality tools needing a simple repair or heritage/heirloom tools can be valuable to add to our inventory. When in doubt, reach out to us at heynn@wallawalla.edu with the details (age, brand, and quality). Thank you!

Donations can be brought to the Tool Library Trailer during open hours or by appointment. Our address, hours, etc. are listed at the bottom of the Tool Library page. If your donation is large enough, we may be able to find volunteers to help pick it up/transport. If you will need help unloading, please let us know in advance so we can plan on having extra volunteers available.
